A ColorSplashed Cat.

Got quite a few assignments due in 2 weeks. That's okay, though. I've already finished half. Only thing is I'm wondering when I'll be able to do the other half. Why?

i. Glenn and Suelynn are visiting this weekend. I'm glad that they did decide to come down to Australia after all.
ii. Commissioned to edit videos for RMIT Fashion & Design's graduation video and one of their student's presentation.
iii. Tons of other work.

Anyway, I shouldn't stay on this long. Don't be surprised if my next post will be some weeks' time.

For some people, love is hard to find. I'm one of those people. When I get down on the dancefloor, though, something in me inspires an excitement, a quickening in my heart... I feel as though the world is alright again.

All because of love - the love all mankind... of the self, between a man and a woman, of your neighbours and friends, of all mankind and the rest of the world, and most importantly, of God.

This film clip is a captivating sequence of love when it seizes us on the dancefloor, where everyone is at peace and sharing their magic with all and sundry.

Part IV of The Big Chase posted on the b-sides.

Caught in the rain today. Second time within a week. I was running from my apartment to my school. Last Friday, I was caught in St. Kilda while making my way back from there after hanging out with my classmates.

Yesterday, I brought my friends onto the set for Pluck. They were there to plug our class' movie night fundraiser on this Sunday. They were impressed with the rag-tag studio and asked if they could come and be part of the crew. They've talking about crewing on Pluck since the beginning of the year but didn't bother to come down until yesterday. Plus, I had the opportunity to show off my directing too.

I really like directing. I think it's because I feel that's the job I'm best suited for. Plus no one has anything really incriminating to say about it. I think it's the kind of the same motivation I have in the kitchen when I cook. Or during my time in Singapore when I did Sonic Fest. I guess I do have an attraction for positions of authority. I don't think there's anything wrong with this because a leader has to want to take responsibility. I haven't been responsible in the past. I think I'm a lot more responsible now than when I was in high school and NS.

By the way, for those didn't know, I went to high school in Sydney. So I always call my pre-U years 'high school'. Some people think that I'm just a wannabe when I say 'high school' instead of 'JC'. The fact is I've never been to JC. So there.

Try as I might, I can't bring myself to listen to Chinese pop music. I personally find it extremely irritating. English pop is also terrible. Of course, it seems like I don't like all sorts of pop music. It's not a conscious decision to reject them, but simply, mainstream pop is really not to my taste.

None, in the recent years, have remotely appealed to me. Sure, there is one or two here an there which I think is cool, but only cool enough to sound mediocre to me. After all, in the sea of thousands of pop artistes, someone has to hit the right note. But then, these tracks can probably not be classified as mainstream at all since they get so little air time.

Just my personal taste. I'm not slamming anyone who likes pop music.

It's Super 8, not dead.

New entry on the b-side.

Apparently, Super 8 is not dead here in Melbourne. For those who don't know what Super 8 is, it is a movie film format that uses film like those from film cameras, recording picture by picture. The width of the film is 8mm.

In Singapore, this format is non-existent. Actually, I'd be surprised if many people know what Super 8 format is. Well, let's just say that I've done a few rolls and they came out to be really cool. After developing the film, what I did was got a projector, shoot it on the wall and record it into my video camera. Now I know some of you are asking, "Why not just record with the video camera from the beginning?" Well, can the video camera record pro-looking slow-motion? No.

It's called 'over-cranking', a movie term for recording at high speed and playing back at normal speed. For example, if I record at a rate of 54 images in one second and I play it back at a rate of 25 images in a second, then what I get is very high-quality slow motion. Experiment a ferw more times, and the footage will start looking like something out of the Matrix.

I shot four reels the other day at 36 frames per second. I will put it up here on this website soon.

pax.
Pax ad infinitum.

I have to admit the venture to establish a full-fledged website for my school is a failure. At first, I thought it's because I was incompetent but now, I'm beginning to realise that it's the rest of my team who's at fault.

Anyway, I say that it's not me is because this semester's project is underway and the appointed leader, this new English guy who only just joined us recently, is experiencing the exact same problems I had last semester: the bo-chup-ness of the rest of the class. He is, by far, the fellow student I respect the most. On top of that, he has so much more experience in organising events. Yet, he still experiences problems like these.

He came to me just now to tell me he now knew why I commit more of my time with outside projects than with school projects. And the other student wonder why, we, the people who are most likely to share our working experience are deciding to not take up new projects here. Anyway, I don't have to feel sorry for myself anymore, because it's not my fault. Today, God Himself has redeemed me from false guilt.

Oh, there's a new entry on the b-side.

Enjoying the scenery.

Apparently, all the BlogSpot addresses are down. :( Anyway...

Enjoying the scenery. It's 'well into spring' and so the flowers are blooming really hard (pardon the expression, no pun intended). School begun this week again and so we're back here in school 'studying'. Next Saturday, my class is organising a charity movie night in St. Kilda, which such a cool thing. I have remind myself to plug it on TV.

Meanwhile, the b-sides have been updated again, featuring the first account of a series of dreams that I've had since young.

I find it funny that people should say that what I write here is bullshit when they know so little about the background of what happened. Dude anti-bro, sorry that you didn't enjoy as I have. But be glad you didn't because even I myself was a bit indulging in what was available to me. But please don't accuse me of something you have no idea of. On my blog for that matter.

Moving on, I have visitors this month. Judy is coming sometime next week (I think). At the end of the month, Glenn and Suelynn are coming. Should be fun.

I don't know when I'm going back to Singapore. My mum says she might come down and we both look for an apartment together. That's better because I don't have any idea how to look for a place of my own. With her around, I can learn. By the way, we mean to buy an apartment, so I want to be more careful than just looking for an apartment to rent.

But because of this, I may miss John's wedding. I already missed Rueben's wedding. Sometimes I think the timing damn wrong sia.

Meanwhile, check out new entries on the bsides.
