8.4 Megapixels?!

My parents went out to get the swankiest Panasonic Lumix camera in the current market. I think it's quite swanky. And it's got a 8.4 megapixel CCD, which means it's capable of quite a high resolution. (I tried to convince my parents to get a digital-SLR, but, well, it was a long shot.)

I met a friend from long ago (7 years?) this evening. We both laughed at my embarassing past, but it's all good. We had a good time hanging out.

I bumped into another friend who lost his dad a couple of months ago. I'm encouraged that he is taking this very positively and taking charge of his household.

New blog address.

Yup, and so I've moved here. That's because I've decided to use genshi-monogatari.com for my promo site for my music production, gigs and DJing. Feel free to visit www.genshi-monogatari.com. For those of you who do not know, I'm currently doing some small-time music production in the area of electronica. I am also exploring the idea of doing electronic music live, but that will have to come after I've gathered enough material. You here listen to a sample of a track I made here.

I'm also looking for DJing gigs in pubs/clubs. To understand the kind of music I DJ, you can download my mix here. No private house parties, please.

New 17" MacBook Pro is out!

Apple has just released the 17" MacBook Pro. No doubt everyone will again be awed by the size factor. Just last week, Leet bought her 15" Macbook Pro. I've yet to really see the MacBook Pro series in serious action. I here that universal software for most pro applications are coming up, including Ableton Live, in the 5.2 release.

I'm still waiting for a 12" MacBook Pro model to appear. And then there's the matter of saving up for one. Yeah, I know it's not expensive compared to the 17". To me, though, it's always expensive if it's more than $200. Nowadays, anyway.

My own version of the EG-101

Wouldn’t it be really cool if the EG-101 really looked like that?

See the original here.

I just watched Wasabi properly for the first time. Gordon and Edmund were over. It was a good laugh. Meanwhile, here is another funny video: How to eat at a sushi bar.

Plastic Decor Containers

I was dropping by the office for Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Geylang and I passed by a shop that hung plastic containers by the road in a decorative fashion (pictured above).

Making music with my keyboard and Mac together has been fun. I’ve done up some crazy sounds recently. The only problem is that I don’t know how to write lyrics. And I have no vocalist. I don’t mind singing except that I’m not a very good singer and my voice isn’t the kind I’m looking for.
