In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.

Maggie is the Mother of All Cats.
I just saw Hero on DVD. Not bad for entertainment. But the screenplay is horrifying... haha. I do enjoy the fight scenes, however, and would watch it again every so often for the fights. Real cool.
But compared to The Emporer and the Assassin, it's really terrible. I saw Emporer last night and was totally amazed by the screenplay, the acting and so on. Very Beat Takeshi, though, I might add. One keeps forgetting one is not watching a samurai cult film, like Beat's gay samurai movie (I can't recall the title, but I saw it last week).
Meanwhile, I found that the Australian Centre for the Moving Image is a cool place for film connoiseurs to watch films. Especially independent films. It is also the Melbourne home for the TV channel SBS. In any case, it's not just for filmsters but also for the arts-inclined person. A really cool interesting place.
Perhaps it all comes down to why I'm here: a bigger and more acceptable arts scene. I have no doubt that Singapore will one day have a nice arts community to come. But I don't think I can wait that long. Maybe one day, I'll go back to Singapore for good when the arts is really fantastic. But for now, I guess Melbourne will have to do.
It's late. Genshi goes red. Inspired by the Red Girl and the Mother of All Cats.
Ad Majorem dei Gloriam.
