The new iPod.

Apple releases a new iPod today. Again. Last month, they came up with the iPod Nano, which really made the rest of us iPod Mini users out of fashion. You know, it’s like software. Every six months, a newer version is released and then they say that if you don’t get the newest version, you’re hopelessly out of date.

This makes me feel that we’re living in an increasingly ‘disposable’-anything age. Disposable like paper plates, paper cups, forks, knives, spoons, socks, underwear, handkerchiefs, contact lens, spectacles, manual hair shavers, combs, toothbrushes, wipes, plastic bags, Tupperware, CDs, DVDs . . .

Seems like everything also has an expiry date too. Anything from electronics, fashion, food, sports, music, and even relationship trends. There’s just so much going on that I wonder if humans will ever get out of this endless cycle of materialism. (Or, at least, I speak of myself.)

Even my designs for this website have expiry dates. And those are the dates that I feel that I need a revamp. Always, I’d tell myself that this next design is the design that will last a long time. But after a few months, I get really bored with it because there are always other websites better than this.

Hopefully, I’ll stop designing and start writing more, so that my writing skills can improve. Because, nowadays, I need to pour out the infested stagnant water and allow in pure rivers of flowing water in order to write well.
